Sam Wolfson is a new face making big waves in cinematography and photography, exercising his innate knack for camera work and lighting design through his position of DP here at Q36. He began fiddling around with cameras at a young age, inspired by his grandfather’s “ancient” 35mm Nikon gear, and soon realized his passion for capturing images through a lens. What started as a hobby, photographing trees in the backyard and family members at Passover, slowly turned into something more – as Sam’s skills began to develop, his passion for camera work followed suit.
At this point, there are few things Sam doesn’t capture with his camera. Living in New York City, he is never short of interesting subjects, and as a student at New York University he’s been able to hone his cinematic talents on countless short films and various projects. Working with both digital and analog camera equipment, Sam has been developing his proficiency behind the lens and, more importantly, his artistic style by shooting the ever-inspiring surroundings of his everyday life as well as the exciting challenges presented to him by Q36.
